The Voice’s Jamar Rogers Talks Inspiration and Releasing a New Album
It’s been awhile since we’ve seen our boy Jamar Rogers. After the Team Cee Lo contestant failed to make it to the finals of Season 2 of The Voice (losing to rocker Juliet Simms), we were heartbroken.
But the singer has certainly been keeping busy. He released his first post-Voice single, “Where Would I Be Without You,” last month, and is currently working on a new album.
“It’s like a thank-you letter to the people who loved me through the dark days, the days when I didn’t even recognize myself,” Jamar told The Huffington Post.
Jamar’s interesting sound was described by the singer as having “elements of electronic rock and soul. My music is if Sam Cook, Depeche Mode, and MGMT had a love child.”
But when can we expect a complete album?
“I’m hoping to be done with a full length album by the end of the year,” Jamar said.
Jamar is still spreading the word about being HIV positive, and enjoying the support of his fans, which he refers to as “the Fam.”
Will you buy Jamar’s album?
