After three successful season of The Voice, we've grown accustomed to seeing Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, and Christina Aguilera in their token red chairs.
But what happens this spring?
Both Christina and Cee Lo have announced that they're taking a leave of absence from the hit show to work on their own side projects. Christina will be promoting her new album, Lotus, and Cee Lo will be working on a new sitcom for NBC.
Replacing them in the spring season (premiering March 25) will be Colombian singer Shakira and R&B artist Usher.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last May, NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt told the publication that they are working with the show’s format to make sure audiences don’t get bored, and that could include a new set of judges.
“Two commitments a year is more than they expected,” Greenblatt said of the additional cycle. “We love them all and they’re all spectacular and different from one another. We love the chemistry.”
