Last night, we said goodbye to fan favorite Trevin Hunte on The Voice Season 3. The 18-year-old from Queens, N.Y. has shown off his big voice all season, and everyone’s proud of this shy youngster’s accomplishments — Top 4 ain’t too shabby!
But though Trevin’s taken his bow from the Voice stage, we’ll always remember him fondly. Here are our Top 3 favorite performances from the powerhouse this season.
3. Percy Sledge’s “When a Man Loves a Woman”
Using his smooth, yet powerful sound to destroy this classic tune, Trevin made his live show presence known. He didn’t even have to move away from the microphone stand to embody the song’s necessary soul and passion.
2. “Listen” From Dreamgirls
This was, by far, one of the best blind auditions the show has seen to date. Though Beyonce has made the tune popular to a new generation, Trevin made it popular on The Voice. We got chills as this shy teen broke out of his shell and got a three-chair turn — including standing ovations.
1. “And I Am Telling You” From Dreamgirls
Continuing his audition for Dreamgirls, Trevin slayed the musical’s most popular tune that helped Jennifer Hudson snag an Oscar. And though he wasn’t singing to a evil Jamie Foxx, Trevin made it clear that we were going to love him. We didn’t even need his musical pleas, though we could listen to him belt notes most divas only dream of all day.
