To further distance itself from competing talent shows, The Voice seems to be doing everything possible to stay relevant and interesting.

First, there was the extremely high production value of the 24 live show performances (not to mention a plethora of shirtless male dancers), and now, there will be two contestants eliminated in tonight’s live show immediately following their performances.

Tonight (April 16), the remaining four contestants from both Team Blake and Team Christina will perform individually, in addition to some group numbers and guest appearances, and by the end of the night, Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera will each cut one performer from their respective teams.

Next week, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green will have to do the same with their teams.

Then tomorrow night (April 17), the contestant with the most votes from tonight’s performance from each team will be safe from elimination while the bottom two from each team must compete to be saved. Blake and Christina will each save one of their contestants, eliminating the other.

So, by the end of tomorrow night, there will be two remaining contestants on both Team Blake and Team Christina. By the end of next Tuesday’s episode, the same will be true for Team Adam and Team Cee Lo.

This will continue until the Season 2 finale on May 8.

The remaining contestants on Team Blake are Erin Willett, Jermaine Paul, Jordis Unga, and RaeLynn, and the remaining contestants on Team Christina are Ashley De La Rosa, Chris Mann, Jesse Campbell, and Lindsey Pavao.
