Though The Voice produces a new generation of musicians, it can sometimes limit the celebrity judges who have already built strong careers. New coach, Usher, is starting to understand that.

The R&B singer was tapped to take Cee Lo Green’s spot on the show while the “Forget You” singer works on his new NBC autobiographical sitcom. To compensate for the time he’ll spend on the show, Usher was forced to postpone his European tour.

The “European Euphoria Tour” was set to make 21 stops and will now be postponed until fall 2013. The concerts were originally slated to begin on Jan. 18, but due to Usher’s involvement on The Voice, the scheduling will be too much for the singer to manage.

He released a statement saying, “I love each and every one of [my fans] and thank you for being there every step of the way. I truly appreciate and am grateful for your support while I take this time to focus on my children and continue to evolve with my fans.”

He went on to cite “professional and personal commitments” — including The Voice — in his decision to delay the tour.

What do you think of Usher’s decision? Is it a smart choice or unfair to fans? Weigh in below!
