Every performer has their pre-show rituals to get them in the mood. Whether it’s wearing the same socks for two weeks or drinking tea before getting on stage, entertainers tend to pull out all the stops.

And The Voice Season 3’s Terry McDermott is no exception. The Scottish rocker wasn’t shy about telling Wetpaint what gets him ready for The Voice stage when Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with him. “I don’t know why but I’ve always done my best practicing in the shower,” he sheepishly admitted. “It’s always been that way.”

And apparently, even though it’s always been like that, his audience hasn’t been quite as happy with the performances as they were in Monday’s battle rounds.

He told us that he actually got complaints about his loud bathroom rehearsals when he was growing up, from elderly neighbors on his street.

But, at least one of those people is changing their tune. After seeing him on The Voice, one of his former neighbors actually contacted Terry to take back all those complaints from years ago.  “He apologized,” Terry told us, “and said,  ‘Well, I’ll never complain about your shower singing again!’”

We’ll have to agree with that guy on this one, because all those shower sessions certainly ended up working for him!
