Was The Voice’s Blake Shelton Married When He Met Met Current Wife Miranda Lambert?

Anyone who’s tuned in for an episode of The Voice knows Blake Shelton’s “wafe” is country superstar Miranda Lambert. Though they may appear to have a fairytale romance, a lot of fans, us included, didn’t realize Blake was married to another woman when they met!

Blake had been married to Kaynette Williams for over two years when he and Miranda first met while filming a duet special for CMT in 2005. Six months after the special aired, Blake had divorced Kaynette and was seeing Miranda. Scandalous!

What gives? Did Blake start seeing Miranda during his marriage to Kaynette? Neither of them have publicly copped to any infidelity, but Miranda did come pretty close in an interview with Hoda Kotb on Dateline last year.

“I knew better,” she said of her initial relationship with Blake. “Like, this is off limits. My parents are private investigators for God’s sake. I’ve seen this my whole life — affairs. Of all people to know better, I know better than this.”

It sounds like Miranda was definitely guilty of having strong feelings toward Blake, but did they act on it?

In an interview with Parade last August, Blake called his first marriage “the worst experience of my life.” That’s a pretty strong statement, coming from someone who used to rock a mullet.

Despite his presumed indiscretions, there’s just something about Blake that we can’t shake. He and Miranda are a super cute couple and it’s clear how in love they are.
