It’s been a big year for The Voice’s Adam Levine.

He was a part of the top-rated show on NBC, announced the launch of his new fragrance, appeared on the new season of American Horror Story, and his band Maroon 5 released their new album, Overexposed, in June. To celebrate Adam's success, we're flashing back with the music video for Maroon 5's song, "Payphone."

The single made it to No. 1 on the iTunes charts after it's summer release. The video’s story is Adam’s personal creation. He plays a nerdy bank employee trying to get the attention of a pretty girl when the bank is robbed (by his band).

Gunfire ensues, and somehow Adam is on the run from the police in a super sexy sports car. To top things off, there’s a major explosion at the end of the video for no apparent reason.

It looks like Adam’s character went through all of this just to use the payphone, which brings us to the question we’ve been asking since the song came out why are you using a payphone in 2012?

What do you think of Adam and Maroon 5’s music video? Comment below!
