Team Blake’s Julio Cesar Castillo returned to his roots with José Alfredo Jiménez’s classic mariachi tune “El Rey” on The Voice Season 3 live playoff rounds.

Christina said that she was so glad that he stayed true to his roots, complimenting the “richness” of his vibrato. Although Blake admitted he didn’t know what Julio was saying, he was impressed by the way his emotional performance could convey the meaning of the song.
