The Utah native took a step back from being in the medical field to take a shot with music. After diverting from his initial life goals, Ryan came to The Voice with a soulful rendition of “Gravity” by John Mayer. Immediately, Ryan got the attention of coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Seconds later, coaches Shakira and Usher spun their chairs for the crooner.

When Ryan’s performance was over, all four coaches went in for the kill. Blake, told Ryan that they were meant for each other, while Shakira said Ryan had her “floating” in her chair.  Usher complimented the singer on shaking “the entire room,” while Adam pointed out that he was the first coach to acknowledge Ryan’s talent.

“You just feel so good,” Adam said. Ultimately, the soul singer picked Usher.
