Team Blake’s Terry McDermott has tackled many classic songs throughout his time on The Voice Season 3, but never anything as iconic as The Beatles’ “Let It Be,” which he sang during tonight’s live semi-finals.

The Scottish rocker closed out the night by putting his own twist on the iconic song, showing off a slightly-softer side of his voice. With a new, blonder ‘do and a sleek black suit, he commanded the stage, even tilting the mic stand as he ad-libbed a bit of the chorus. Though we’ve been impressed with Terry all along, this was definitely the perfect song for him, and perhaps his strongest performance yet.

Adam kicked off the commentary, saying, “Thank God for you, Terry. You’re so wonderful. Also, just sometimes there’s so much wrong with the world and to have this show and to have things like this that make us all so happy and inspire us, it’s really important. I know it’s just a silly TV show, but it’s pretty damn great. You did an incredible job, bro.”

“That song … that’s sacred ground, and there are only a handful of singers in the world who should attempt that, and you're one of them, by the way,” his coach, Blake, said. “None of us will ever be able to sit here and scientifically ever decide what perfection is in music, but in my heart, in my absolute heart, I believe that that was musical perfection.”

With the new setup, fans can vote for their favorite contestants by calling in, voting on Facebook or NBC.com, texting (for Sprint users), or by buying their song on iTunes. If you liked Terry’s performance, be sure to vote at the end of the show!
