Terry McDermott has taken The Voice Season 3 by storm, but not too long ago, he was the frontman of not one, but two bands!

Team Blake’s rocker started off in his homeland, forming the Aberdeen, Scotland-based band Driveblind in the early 2000s. They later moved to Los Angeles and were signed to A&M Records, but shifted to Geffen Records afterward. And if you were wondering how Terry developed his great stage presence, it’s likely from watching big bands like Foo Fighters, The Bravery, and Hot Hot Heat after Driveblind opened for them!

During their five years together, the band released a full-length self-titled record in Oct. 2006, and then an EP, The Future You Were Promised, in 2008. Sadly, things fell through with them afterward, prompting Terry to move to New Orleans with his wife and son.

There, he kicked off a new project called Lotus Crush with a few people he knew from other bands. Based in Seattle, they released their debut album, Half Light Morning, in March 2011, appearing at SXSW music festival in Austin shortly after.

However, since then, Terry has been flying solo, looking to launch a career of his own, and hopefully winning The Voice will do that for him!
