Where Did The Voice Show Start? You Asked, We Answered!
We couldn’t imagine The Voice without Adam and Blake’s bromance or Christina and Cee Lo’s crazy outfits, but long before NBC’s version kicked off in 2011, contestants were battling it out in the Netherlands!
That’s right, Voice fans — the spinning red chairs originated in Holland, with The Voice of Holland premiering in 2010.
Today, there are actually more than 45 versions of our favorite show in many different countries, and some shows even have a kids version, much like American Juniors, the now-defunct edition of American Idol.
Although all of the shows are popular in their home countries, the most notorious edition — after the U.S. version, of course — is The Voice UK, with celebrity judges Jessie J, The Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am., The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue, and Tom Jones.
