Tony Vincent, the Broadway native who took on Queen’s “We Are the Champions” on Monday’s Blind Auditions for The Voice, wasn’t the the only theatrical talent to come out of his class.
The crooner graduated in 1991 with star of Emmy stage and small screen, Neil Patrick Harris!
“We’ve never lost contact,” Tony said in a conference call on Tuesday.
Not only were they in the same theatre class, but they also co-starred in a production of Neil Simon’s classic show The Odd Couple.
“The character he plays in his show [How I Met Your Mother], Barney, is the same character he played in high school,” Tony joked. “I applaud his success. It’s kind of a mutual respect.”
Though he hasn’t heard from NPH since the episode aired on Monday, Tony has been getting support from a lot of celebs he’s costarred with over the years, including Glee’s Lea Michelle!
“It’s great that I’m getting that endorsement,” said Tony. “It’s a humbling experience.”
We should say so!
