On the Sept. 10 premiere episode of The Voice Season 3, one contestant inspired every coach to turn their big red chairs.

Bryan Keith from Bronx, N.Y. sang Bruno Mars’s “It Will Rain,” and the 22-year-old impressed all four coaches.

Christina Aguilera described Bryan’s style as “signature” and Adam made a desperate plea for Bryan to be on his team, which worked because Bryan ultimately went with Adam.

The singer is the son of Latin jazz and salsa singer Ray De La Paz, who was a member of the Grammy Award-winning band Spanish Harlem Orchestra.

Despite his father’s musical connection, Bryan’s definitely making a name for himself this season on Team Adam.
