On tonight’s blind auditions of The Voice Season 3, Christina Aguilera had a major connection to contestant Jordan Pruitt. No, they weren’t bosom buddies — the two pop singers are former Disney stars!

Christina got her start on The Mickey Mouse Club, performing alongside the likes of Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears, whereas Jordan kicked off her career by singing and touring around the world with The Cheetah Girls, Vanessa Hudgens, and Demi Lovato. She also recorded many songs for Disney channel original movies.

Jordan released the album No Ordinary Girl in 2007, which reached No. 64 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. She also released an album, Permission to Fly, in 2008, but it was considered a commercial flop. Jordan’s third album is set to be released this year and features a song written by the Jonas Brothers.

Now, at the age of 21, Jordan’s ready to pursue a serious musical career, refusing to get pigeon-holed by her bubblegum pop image.

Originally from Loganville, Ga., the young singer attributes her success thus far to her close musical family.

She wowed coach and idol Christina Aguilera during her blind audition of Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away.” Xtina said Jordan was the pop singer she’d been waiting for, which is quite the compliment from one of the greatest pop singers of all time!
