If you thought The Voice made a lot of changes this season, just wait until the spring!

When Season 4 of the hit singing competition airs in 2013, two familiar faces will be noticeably absent Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, replaced by Colombian pop singer Shakira and R&B heavyweight Usher.

This isn’t because either of them did something wrong — the timing just isn’t right. The two coaches, who have been on the show since it premiered in 2010, need a break to further their careers. Christina recently released a new album, Lotus, and is looking forward to promoting it and touring, and Cee Lo is developing a semi-autobiographical NBC comedy.

We don’t know how long the duo will be gone, but filming for Season 4 is already underway. Thankfully, both Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have already raved about the new additions, so we’re excited to see what Shakira and Usher bring to the table.

Well, we’ll be anxiously awaiting their returns, and we hope their outfits are even more wacky next time around.
