Why Replacing The Voice Judges in the Spring Is a Bad Idea
After a successful second season, numerous iTunes downloads, and top-notch ratings, it’s only natural that The Voice is returning for a third season. It also makes sense that the show is set for a fall cycle in addition to the one next spring.
We’re very excited about this new fall cycle, but with it comes the possibility that the four celebrity judges won’t be back in 2013.
Executives at NBC are concerned that two cycles in one year would be too much of a time commitment for the judges, all of whom have their own music careers.
To remedy this situation, the show may consider replacing Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, and Christina Aguilera in the spring cycle with an entirely new group of judges.
No offense, NBC, but that’s a horrible idea.
The show’s entire dynamic is a direct result of the chemistry between the four judges.
Where would we be without Blake pointing at himself or Cee Lo stroking Purrfect? Whose team would we pick if we didn’t have two judges in the middle of a feud?
American Idol wasn’t the same after Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul left (sorry J-Lo … not sorry Steven Tyler), and The Voice wouldn't be the same without Christina and her crazy outfits.
