We know him as a judge on The Voice and the singer of profane pop songs, but Cee Lo Green also has some darkness in his past. According to RadarOnline, he was once arrested for domestic violence.
In 2001, Cee Lo apparently smashed the windows of his family Jaguar in the heat of an argument with his then-wife Christina Johnson. She called 911, and the Fayette County, Georgia, police charged him with “simple assault (family violence)” and “disorderly conduct.” He was released on $2800 bail and later sentenced to 12 months’ probation and domestic violence counseling.
Ultimately, Cee Lo and Christina split in 2004, and she cited “mental and physical cruelty” in her divorce filings and was granted full custody of their son.
Cee Lo says his anger is under control now, and he’s got his music to thank. "I was saved through my association with music," he said. "Music truly did calm a savage beast."
