After announcing that The Voice would return for an additional fall season, NBC executive Mark Burnett was not a favorite amongst the four celebrity judges.

Blake Shelton was the most vocal about the changes, regularly saying, “Something’s gotta give,” and friend and co-coach Adam Levine agrees. And who can blame our favorite coaches when they’re trying to juggle their music careers, The Voice, and any other side projects they may be working on.

NBC has no intention of reverting back to the once-a-year method, especially with the killer ratings the show is bringing in. So who will budge first?

According to TVGuide, Mark Burnett is realistic about the show’s future.

“Burnett says he would like to keep Aguilera, Levine, Shelton, and Green on board as the show’s core coaches, with the idea that they’ll all have to miss some seasons and be replaced with temp stars,” the site reported.

And apparently Cee Lo Green is the only coach who has shared an interest in the Spring season.

“It won’t be if, it’s when,” Mark said. “They’re all going to tour. We’re talking about it all the time.”

If the judges must leave, we’re glad they’re entertaining the idea of having them return, unlike American Idol who has gone through its share of celebrity judges over the last 11 seasons.
