All good things must come to an end, and we’re sad to report that after this season of The Voice, Christina Aguilera will be taking a leave of absence from the show to promote her new album, Lotus.

The Season 3 finale takes place on Dec. 18, 2012 (also known as Xtina’s birthday!), and when the show starts back up in the spring, Colombian singer Shakira will be taking Christina’s spot.

Don’t fret, Voice fans! The diva is just taking some time off to work on her own music career. She hasn’t confirmed whether or not she’ll return for Season 5 yet, but rest assured, she will be back at some point in the near future.

NBC’s producers have made it clear that the Big Red Chairs are reserved for the original judges, and any newcomers will only be there temporarily.

Cee Lo Green will also be taking a hiatus from the show to work on his new NBC sitcom, and will be replaced by Usher.
