Battles: Round 1

Last night was the first night of battle rounds on Season 2 of The Voice, and we weren't surprised to see judge Blake Shelton's wife Miranda Lambert on the list of celebrity mentors.

Blake has offered a fairly honest, comical persona thus far, but do you think his wife's involvement in the show clouds his judgment?

Now that The Voice blind auditions are finally over, the real competition begins!

For the next few weeks, the contestants will compete in the battle rounds, which — as judge Adam Levine so aptly described it — basically means “singing in harmony and secretly trying to destroy each other.”

Tonight's episode of The Voice was like the musical version of The Hunger Games — in short, a total bloodbath.

Entertaining as it was, it was also bittersweet. We said goodbye to a total of six contestants, some of whom we'd grown rather attached to. Goodbyes are hard, but at the end of the day, it's a competition and the show must go on.
