With dreams of being a country singer, this 16-year-old singer made her debut on national TV as a contestant for Season 4 of The Voice. This youngster was teased as a kid for having crooked teeth, but she didn’t let bullying stop her from singing.
With countless YouTube videos of this up-and-comer belting out covers to hits like Adele’s “One and Only” and Carrie Underwood’s “So Small,” there’s no doubt that this young girl’s got talent.
Aside from singing, Danielle enjoys horseback riding and being outdoorsy.
“I’m a country girl,” says the Texas native, and her Southern twang only makes that more apparent.
But will her vocals take her all the way through in The Voice? Only time will tell. Until then, be sure to check out Danielle’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channel to tell us what you think!
Despite singing in front of audiences at festivals in her hometown, her audition on The Voice was her first big performance. Singing “Mean” by Taylor Swift, Danielle grabs the attention of three out of four judges. After Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Usher turn around to see the singer, Shakira realizes her mistake in not going after the little lady.
“I feel so stupid I didn’t turn my chair,” Shakira says.
Adam tries to win Danielle over by saying that Taylor Swift is more of a pop artist, but Blake replies, “No, we take ownership of Taylor Swift.”
In an attempt to get Danielle, coach Usher plays the Justin Bieber card, offering her tickets meanwhile Blake goes after the girl by telling her he wants to “be the guy who introduces you to Nashville.”
Usher proceeds to accidentally call Nashville a state, to which Blake replies, “Nashville is a state of mind.”
Ultimately, the little singer with country stardom dreams picks Blake, and he pulls out some excellent dance moves.
Danielle battled coffeehouse singer Caroline Glaser with a duet to "Put Your Records On" by Corrine Bailey Rae on April 16. Both ladies held their own, but Blake ultimately crowned the Texas native the winner. Meanwhile, Caroline was snatched up by Adam who jumped in with the "steal."
For her solo performance in the knockouts on April 30, Danielle went up against former gymnast Taylor Beckham with Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus Take the Wheel.” It was hardly a competition for Danielle, who easily won over coach Blake with her powerful performance. Taylor was sent home, while Danielle advanced to the playoffs.
On May 7, Danielle proved she's a force to be reckoned with! The 16-year-old took the stage with one of Blake's personal favorites, "Maybe It Was Memphis," earning her a standing ovation. Her mature sound and natural stage presence make her a top contender in the competition — and according to Blake, one of the most important contestants in the history of the show.
After weeks of successful live shows, Danielle Bradbery was crowned the winner of The Voice Season 4. The Texas teen is the youngest winner in the show's history.
