Minnesota native Mark Andrew Pudas describes himself as a “folksy/bluesy singer/songwriter” who writes and performs songs that “cross genres and generations.” Like many Voice contestants, Mark’s interest in music began as a child. When he was 12 he received his first guitar and hasn’t stopped playing since.
After attending a music school in Hollywood, Mark returned to Minnesota and joined his older brother, Matt Pudas, in seasoned outlaw country group White Iron Band. That gig lasted a few years, and Mark was even lucky enough to share the stage with former Voice finalist, Nicholas David. Talk about fate!
After spending some time in Spain and truly realizing the importance and effect of music around the world, Mark once again settled in Minnesota, where he is now working as a roofer.
Sadly, Mark has since lost two of his former bandmates — his drummer was killed by a drunk driver and his guitarist recently passed away. Even though the grief is still fresh, Mark uses his friend’s deaths to motivate him on The Voice, and refers to them as his “guardian angels.”

Mark Andrew’s turn on The Voice begins with a beautiful rendition of the Bob Dylan classic “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” which instantly “hooks” judge Adam Levine. Sexy Shakira is quick to turn her chair as well.
In a desperate plea to recruit Mark as a member of his team — and dissuade him from joining Team Shakira — Adam playfully warns the soulful singer,“don’t be blinded by lust. I know she’s a lot prettier than I am.”
But not one to be easily outdone, Shakira makes a compelling case for why Mark should join her team, noting that she feels “so passionate” about him.
In the end, Shakira’s passion wins out and Mark joins Team Shakira, reasoning that his wife wouldn’t forgive him if he wasn’t mentored by the Colombian bombshell!
