Blind Auditions:

Monique Abbadie auditioned for The Voice Season 4 with “Loca” by Shakira and was the second contestant of the April 1 Blind Auditions to get a turn from every coach. Seeing as she was one of the night’s final contestants all the coaches were clamoring for her — but the Shakira fan was more than happy to choose her idol’s team. Monique especially loved when Shakira said she was “proud” of her as a Latina and said that together they would be “great.” Even Adam agreed that they were a “match made in heaven!”

Battle Rounds:

Monique went up against fellow Team Shakira contestant Luke Edgemon with "You and I" by Lady Gaga during the April 22, 2013 episode. Although all four judges praised Luke's performance, the Colombian judge selected her Latina counterpart, sending Monique through to the knockout rounds. Luke advanced as well, getting snatched up by country crooner Blake Shelton.
