Chances are you've already heard of Sasha Allen! This New York native got her start singing at the tender age of 14, became a theater celeb thanks to her stint in the Tony Award-winning broadway show Hair, and was a backup vocalist for celebs like Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, and The Voice's newest coach, Usher! Surprisingly, this amazing songstress has yet to make it to the big leagues, but she's getting a chance at fame on television's most fierce singing competition.
Of course, this isn't Sasha's first time in the spotlight. She was signed to Arista Records when L.A. Reid was still president, but after her record contract fell through, she started acting. Girlfriend appeared as Dee in the cult-classic Camp, and was also a contestant on VH1's reality talent show, Born to Diva. Clearly, Sasha is a pro –– but does she have what it takes to impress fans of The Voice? That remains to be seen.
Check out Sasha serenade herself silly this season, and in the meantime head over to her Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube channel. Plus, don't forget to listen to Sasha's single, "Let's Fly Away" on iTunes!
Sasha auditioned for The Voice Season 4 with “Not Ready To Make Nice" by The Dixie Chicks, and the coaches were blown away.
At the end of the day, Adam Levine, Shakira, Blake Shelton, and Usher all turned their chairs to see this gal in action, and though Sasha had a tough choice to make, she was more than happy to join Team Adam.
On April 15, Sasha Allen battled fellow Team Adam contestant Amber Carrington with “Try” by P!nk. To our utter shock and surprise, Adam declared Amber the winner and Sasha prepared to exit stage left. But Usher and Shakira jumped in to "steal" the soul singer, and Sasha ultimately picked the 5'3" Colombian to be her new coach. Lucky Shak!
Sasha showed America the true depth of her talent on April 29, when she belted out a stirring rendition of "At Last" by Etta James — and it's safe to say her version rivaled Christina Aguilera's! Coach Shakira sent her through to the live playoffs, and sent competitor Shawna P packing.
Sasha wowed yet again on May 7 when she belted out a powerful and soulful rendition of "Oh! Darling" by The Beatles, proving to all the other coaches that she's the one to beat. Take that, Adam!
