Sheryl Crow is best known for "soaking up the sun" and strumming her acoustic guitar while lounging around on the beach, but girlfriend's career is more than a little dynamic. This nine-time Grammy Award winner received a BA in Music Composition from University of Missouri, and before long she had moved to Los Angeles, and found herself paling around with Michael Jackson as a backup vocalist during his Bad World Tour! That's right, girlfriend shared the same stage as The King of Pop –– no wonder she has such amazing moves!

Sheryl released her collaborative debut album, Tuesday Night Music Club in 1993, and her hit single "All I Wanna Do" reached number two on the hot 100. The album sold over 5.3 million copies and went double platinum, and Sheryl's career was officially launched. Since then, this blonde bombshell has released six studio albums, a live album, and two compilations of her greatest hits. Oh, and she's sold over 50 million albums worldwide –– no biggie!

Of course, this country sensation is more than a little controversial. Her second self-titled album featured hits like "If It Makes You Happy" and "Everyday Is A Winding Road," but the lyrics were all kinds of political, which led to the album being banned at Walmart. However, the controversy surrounding Sheryl's album didn't hurt her career –– in fact, it helped it! She went on to write the theme for James Bond's Tomorrow Never Dies (which was nominated for a Grammy), and has also appeared as a guest star on hit shows like 30 Rock, Cougar Town, and of course, NBC's The Voice (where she'll mentor for Team Blake)!

As far as Sheryl's personal life is concerned, she's single and ready to mingle. Sheryl famously dated Eric Clapton and Owen Wilson before getting engaged to Lance Armstrong, but this hot couple split after three years. Shortly after their breakup, Sheryl underwent treatment for breast cancer, and nowadays she lives outside of Nashville, Tennessee, with her two adopted sons, Wyatt and Levi!

Make sure to catch Sheryl as a mentor on Season 4 of NBC's The Voice, and follow her on Twitter @SherylCrow!
