Melissa McBride Reveals the Fate of Carol and Morgan in ‘TWD’ Season 7

Melissa McBride is spilling on the fate of Carol and Morgan’s relationship in Season 7 of The Walking Dead — and it’s not what you’d expect.

Her character ended the previous season in a depression over all the people she had killed — 18 so far, excluding all those Saviors she mowed down.

“I would agree that I don’t think it would have mattered in that moment to her if that Savior had just taken her out,” she told Entertainment Weekly.

“And this is just the despair that she’s feeling, this internal despair that she’s feeling, and it’s going to be interesting in Season 7 to see how this plays out in this new world.”

Morgan, on the other hand, may be on the total opposite side of the spectrum as he ended Season 6 by breaking his vow of nonviolence by shooting a Savior to save Carol.

Does this mean the new season will see a brand new duo of zombie-killing badasses?

“There may still be philosophical differences,” Melissa explained.

“Now that Morgan had that moment where he chose to take another life to defend someone he cared about, that puts a hole in his philosophy, or his ability to maintain that philosophy.

“So what does that do to their relationship? We’ll have to see. Are they any closer to living in some common agreement or not?”

Carol was on the verge of suicide when we last saw her, and Morgan’s kill may strain their relationship rather than strengthen it.

“Just because Morgan carried out that action, I don’t know if that’s going to change Carol’s mind about how she feels about herself in this world.

“I mean, it’s an inevitability. How can she live with what’s inevitable, is the problem.

“There’s really no getting around it and she knows that, and now Morgan realizes that, but that doesn’t change Carol’s mind about herself in this world. Or does it?”

Dun dun dun! Guess we have to wait until October to find out.

The Walking Dead Season 7 premieres Sunday, October 23 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
