‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Official Synopsis Revealed — And It’s Crazy
With Season 7 of The Walking Dead less than a month away, we are finally getting some real spoilers.
The folks over at AMC have just released the official synopsis for the first half of the new season — and it’s a doozy!
“Up until this point, our characters have lived through conflicts… Disease, hunger, scores of the undead, tragedy, betrayal, and unthinkable loss,” the synopsis reads.
“Through this, they’ve become formidable. Powerful. Unstoppable.”
The survivors proved to be unstoppable when they took over Alexandria, but now they have to deal with a new obstacle — Negan.
“To start Season seven, that power is taken away. They had found safety and stability. They had created a home.
“They thought the world was theirs. They thought they knew the world. They were wrong.”
Dun dun dun. The grim description definitely spells trouble for our favorite group of walker-killers, especially for whoever is at the end of Negan’s bat.
“The first half of Season 7 sees our group fractured, broken, bereaved, and picking up the pieces while living under the thumb of oppression.
“Negan will have successfully brought the survivors under his control, brutally convincing them to live under his rules with a deadly and horrific example of what happens if they don’t.”
We certainly gathered that from the first trailer that was released, which showed Negan in all his glory among his devout followers.
“Other characters are unaware of what’s happened, but have become separated from the group either by incident or choice — they will learn that they can’t escape this new turn of their world, either.
“The half-season is about these characters starting over.”
Does this mean whoever survives Negan’s wrath will start their own civilization? Or will the Kingdom be their new home?
“The overall theme of the season is beginning again. The world isn’t what they thought it was. It’s bigger and it’s even more dangerous.”
Does it get any bigger and more dangerous than Negan?
We’ll just have to wait a few more weeks to see what other dangers lie ahead.
The Walking Dead Season 7 premieres Sunday, October 23 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
