The X Factor

It’s been a while since Melanie Amaro took away The X Factor’s five million dollars, and we’re getting antsy as to when exactly the next installment of this singing extravaganza is gonna get going. Since there really isn’t anything right now, we wouldn’t mind some info on what to expect from Simon Cowell  and his Pandora’s box of producers.

Fortunately, some tidbits have leaked through the spoiler barrier over the past week. First of all, we have an official audition schedule. The first event is taking place on March 14 at the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri, followed by Austin on March 22, and then it’s San Francisco on April 20. There will be an audition at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, with one more location to be announced later. If you aren’t near any of those venues, you can visit one of any number of MyStudio HD Recording Studios across the country beginning in early to mid-March.

So if your new year’s resolution was to audition for The X Factor, rejoice, because they’re making it easy for you!

And don’t expect things to run in quite the same way as they did last season. Simon Cowell declared that he and his people have “torn up the rulebook again” (again?!). For one thing, even managed talent will be able to audition this time around, to say nothing of the other ways in which it’ll be easier to get a foot in the door (multiple times, even, if you’re so inclined!).

“I urge people to go out and audition,” L.A. Reid, the only remaining judge besides Cowell, said.  “This is the real deal.”  And based on the above, these guys have certainly put their money where their mouths are!
