The X Factor

Well, the first season of The X Factor is finally over, and it’s been one heck of an exciting roller-coaster ride. Melanie Amaro took away the five-million-dollar grand prize with an explosive finale performance, and...well, we’ve had plenty to say about that.

But what about the others? What about Josh Krajcik, Chris Rene, and beyond?

Well, naturally, both of the other finalists had nothing but high praise for the big winner.  Krajcik “couldn’t be happier” for Amaro, and Rene offered his blessing with a characteristic “good job, homie!” And now that the dust has cleared, these guys have to figure out what they’re going to do with their post-X Factor lives.

Fortunately for them, Simon Cowell has left the door open for some hardcore record-signing. Granted, it might not be a guaranteed five million bucks, but Cowell did announce that “[t]here is a lot of interest” in Krajcik, Rene, and some others. Indeed, “[t]here’s going to be quite a few that are going to get deals.”

Which others, you ask? Why, it should come as no surprise that the rambunctious and (mostly) unapologetic Brian Bradley, aka Astro, should still be garnering some “interest.” And now that he’s got a freshly released mix tape (perhaps humorously titled LΦSER) out, Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid, and the other brains behind The X Factor can even better assess whether The Astronomical Kid will bring in some astronomical profits.

Throw in Rachel Crow, who should soon be showing up on TV shows across The Disney Channel, and Drew Ryniewicz, who recently stirred up some buzz by covering Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love” to YouTube acclaim, and we have every confidence that at the very least, most of these folks won’t have much to hold against Melanie Amaro in a few years — if not in a few months, or sooner!
