After five years of marriage and five more as boyfriend and girlfriend, Timbaland and his wife, Monique Mosley, are headed to divorce court. And judging from what TMZ has learned about Monique’s demands in the divorce petition, it may be a bumpy ride.
According to the court docs, Monique is requesting child support not only for the five-year-old daughter they had together, but the 10-year-old she had with another man in a previous relationship. While Timbaland never adopted the older child, Monique’s petition insists that he is the “daddy by default.”
She may have a case, due to the fact that her claim indicates that the multimillionaire rapper / producer has "publicly and privately proclaimed this child as his own."
Of course, celebrity child support is always astronomical compared to regular-people support, but that’s not all Monique is asking for. Her divorce docs also list requests for “alimony, life insurance, private school, vacations, summer camp and other expenses.” Monique claims she has practically nothing of her own and had to borrow money in order to pay her lawyer.
We’re guessing counsel is working on retainer in hopes of a pretty hefty payday after the dust settles on this marriage. Timbaland’s estimated net worth is around $80 million, and Monique is making some pretty huge support demands.
It’s always sad when a marriage falls apart — we just hope these two can keep it civil for the sake of the kids!
