Miley Cyrus to Perform Live in Times Square on New Year’s Eve

Looking to ring in your new year with a little twerking? We aren’t either. But we all better prepare for some booty shaking on December 31 as Miley Cyrus is set to perform on Ryan Seacrest’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin' Eve special.

Smilers! There's been a change in my NYE plans. @RyanSeacrest asked me to perform in Times Square for #RockinEve!!,” Miley tweeted December 11.

Ryan later confirmed the news on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

“Every year we have all the big artists from the year,” he tells Jimmy. “I’ll be in Times Square live with a bunch of people including Macklemore and also we’ve just added Miley Cyrus to be in Times Square just before the ball drops. That’s a big deal.”

Miley seems just as excited, but the new gig means the recently 21-year-old has to ditch her bud Pharrell Williams in Miami Beach, Florida, as previously planned.

“I'm bummed I won't be in Miami wanna thank the homies @Fontainebleau 4 their support #turnupforme,” she tweeted yesterday.

Ryan, do you realize what you’ve done? Rockin' New Year’s Eve airs live, which means whatever shocking performance Miley has planned (and you know she’s brainstorming as we speak) will stream unfiltered into homes across the country as it happens.

Whatever Miley may have in store, we just hope girlfriend stays on the ground. We all know how much she likes to ride around on giant balls.

Tune to ABC on December 31, 2013, to ring in the new year with Ryan, Miley, and the rest of the Rockin' Eve crew.
