Golden Globes 2014: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Hit a Chord With First Promo

Let's hope that the comedic note Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hit during the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on January 12 is better than their musical pitch!

In a new promo for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's yearly award show — which honors the best of TV and film — the SNL alums and besties greet us from behind a piano.

"Tina and I are back to host the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards," Amy announces.

"And just to get you excited," adds Tina, "here's a preview of the opening song we wrote."

If you didn't think these fabulous ladies could sing, well, think again!

And then realize that you're still right. They can't sing.

Check out the promo here!

We still don't know the contestants for the glitzy awards — the nominees will be announced bright and early next Thursday, December 12, at 8 a.m. ET.

But we do know some people who definitely will and definitely will not be a big winner five weeks from now. Woody Allen will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award, sending close friend Diane Keaton to accept it on his behalf. But Scarlett Johansson's voice-only role in Her — playing a Siri-like artificial intelligence system with whom Joaquin Phoenix's character falls in love — has been deemed ineligible. since she doesn't appear on screen.

In any case, we'll find out who's taking home the gold when the big show airs — opening number or no — on January 12, 2014, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
