Tomi Lahren Suspended at TheBlaze After Making Pro-Choice Comments
If you never thought you’d find common ground with outspoken conservative pundit Tomi Lahren, keep reading.
Turns out, the 24-year-old is pro-choice, and that’s a stance that’s jeopardizing her job as a host at TheBlaze.
Tomi revealed her pro-choice opinion on The View on March 17.
“I am a constitutional, y’know, someone that loves the Constitution. I’m someone that’s for limited government,” she said.
“So I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government but I think the government should decide what women do with their bodies.”
“I can sit here and say that, as a Republican … I’m for limited government, so stay out of my guns, and you can stay out of my body as well,” Tomi continued.
“Listen, I am not glorifying abortion,” she later tweeted.
“I don’t personally advocate for it. I just don’t think it’s the government’s place to dictate … Conservatives don’t have to exist in a monolith and share the same brain on every issue.”
The Dallas resident has been hosting her own daily politics show, Tomi, on TheBlaze since November 2015.
But it seems like that position may be in jeopardy, since the channel’s founder, former Fox News host Glenn Beck, is staunchly anti-abortion.
“Rule another label out. I am NOT a ‘constitutional.’ I believe in LIFE, liberty and property,” Glenn tweeted in the wake of Tomi’s interview.
“Just an old fashioned ‘constitutionalist.’”
Now The Daily Caller reports TheBlaze has suspended Tomi for one week, starting today, March 20.
Tomi’s contract with the channel ends in September, but she may leave before then, The Daily Caller adds.
Glenn isn’t the only person Tomi has angered in her time in front of cameras, of course.
She has compared the Black Lives Matter to the Ku Klux Klan, and she has blamed black people for unemployment and homicide rates, all the while claiming she’s not racist.
Still, we never expected her own party to turn on her…
