The Top Fashion Hits and Misses from Episode 1.9, “The Perfect Storm”
Every week, Pretty Little Liars delivers some pretty little styles. Read on to find out who scored with a ferocious ensemble, and who committed the most egregious fashion faux pas!
Here’s why: Aria’s outfit is hardly what one would call typical for an acoustic guitar sing-along — but we mean that in a good way. This little number is totally hot and yet playful, if not quite school appropriate. (Does anyone really get this dressed up to take the SAT?) We love the feminine cut — nipped waist, cap sleeve, flutter skirt, and the edge added by the tall boots and monochromatic hues. The lace tights and polka dot pattern of the buttons give this outfit a fun ‘50s flair. So Aria proved that a singer can still be fashionable and edgy without taking it too far (we hope you were taking notes, Pink!).
Here’s why: Poor Spencer! Her mom may have been keeping secrets from her, but it’s no secret that Spencer’s outfit this week was a mess! We always know that an outfit is in trouble when even we don't know what to call the different elements, and this ensemble is seriously all over the place. The palette is a jumble of basics and contemporary neutrals: Black, grey, white and cream (we feel like we’re just listing colors from a book of paint samples) — and are those brown leggings we spy? When it comes to knits, stick with one — a sweater vest, Comme dress, or a cardigan — but do our eyes a favor and don’t wear it all!
