Towanda Braxton Files For Divorce, Gets Restraining Order Against Estranged Husband
Another one bites the dust…
The former couple, who married in 2004, have been banned from harassing or intimidating each other in a mutual order of protection handed down by a Georgia judge, according to documents obtained by Bossip.
The order also prohibits both Towanda and Andre from taking any property and canceling their health insurance, car insurance or utilities until the divorce is settled.
Furthermore, neither of them are permitted to take their two children, Braxton, 10, and Brooke, 9, out of the state of Georgia.
Both reality stars have been mandated to take parenting classes to help them counsel their kids as they deal with the split. If either party violates any of the cited court orders, they stand to be held in contempt.
Towanda was the one who ultimately pulled the plug on the marriage, filing for divorce on August 18 after 12 years of matrimony.
She cited that the marriage was “irretrievably broken,” requesting primary custody of the kids and asking that their property and debts be split evenly.
That's gonna make it kinda hard to stay away from one another , don'tchya think?
This isn’t the couple’s first time down this road, however. The 42-year-old songstress filed for divorce once before in 2009, but later decided not to follow through with it.
We wish them the best and hope they can remain cordial for the sake of the kids.
