Trace Adkins Enters Rehab After Fight With Trace Adkins Impersonator
Country singer Trace Adkins is dusting himself off and getting back on the wagon after a brawl with a Trace Adkins impersonator aboard a Caribbean cruise ship. According to a TMZ report, confirmed by Trace’s rep in an official statement obtained by Peoplemagazine, the star has entered rehab to reaffirm his commitment to sobriety.
“Trace has entered a treatment facility after a setback in his battle with alcoholism,” the statement begins. “As he faces these issues head-on, we ask that his family’s privacy will be respected.”
The 52-year-old “Watch the World End” singer had been sober for 12 years, according to TMZ. However, he reportedly relapsed either shortly before or during a country music themed cruise to Jamaica.
As for the Trace Adkins impersonator’s involvement, that’s where things take an intriguing turn. Fake Trace was reportedly singing karaoke when, for reasons that are at this time unclear, he and Real Trace got into it, resulting in a physical fight.
After the ship reached its destination, Trace reportedly left the ship once it docked in Jamaica and is now currently in rehab. The former Celebrity Apprentice star sought treatment in 2001 for alcohol abuse after his wife Rhonda and his daughters staged an intervention on his behalf.
