Che Cruz pled no contest to felony stalking today (June 20). He's been sentenced to get treatment in a mental health facility but, as TMZ reports, he's only required to stay there for the first 30 days of the 180 day sentence. The judge also issued a 10-year protective order, meaning Che must stay at least 200 yards away from Selena.
Update (April 7, 2014):
Less than a week after Che Cruz was arrested for breaking into Selena Gomez's Calabasas home, he was discovered on her property again, reports Fox News Latino! The 20-year-old was arrested again on Friday, April 4.
What was he doing out of jail seeing as he had a 45-day sentence from the first go-around? Turns out Che was released Friday after serving just seven days. No word yet on what kind of penalty he'll face this time since he's violated a judge's order and the three years' probation he got last week.
According to the police report, Che Cruz allegedly knocked on the front door looking for the pop star but was turned away after being informed that she wasn't home. The police then later found Cruz in the bathroom of Selena's guest house. (Because when Selena Gomez doesn't answer her front door for you, it's only natural to take up residency on her property to wait for her. She is a busy girl, after all.)
This isn't the first time someone was arrested for trespassing on Selena's property. Another man was arrested in January for allegedly trespassing – this time at the star's home in Tarizana, Calif. Selena wasn't around to witness that, but she was home during the incident at her Calabasas home.
Along with the jail time of 45 days, Cruz is now prohibited from possessing weapons, was ordered by a judge to stay away from the singer, and has to serve three years' probation. Hopefully all that will keep him off Selena's lawn in the future.
