We’re still in shock over Sarah Newlin’s stiletto-murdering rampage on the last episode of True Blood (“Dead Meat”), but we’re pleased that Anna Camp has been able to show some range through her character’s evolution from abused sidekick to righteous power player!
Camp recently talked to Entertainment Tonight about her crazy catfight with Ms. Suzuki, and hinted at the future of both her character and the show.
Anna told ET she was, “... excited beyond belief,” about her bloody confrontation, adding, “I've never done a fight scene to that extent, and never murdered someone on camera before.” And that Sarah really believes God is showing her the way: “I think every single thing she gets away with this season, and everything that propels her forward is a sign from God that she is on the right path to removing vampires from the earth.” Sounds like a true believer!
Talking more about her character, Camp said that she could see Sarah completely losing it due to all the things that have happened to her, “I fear she's going to be dead or in a loony bin one of these days.” Oh, we hope not! We kind of want Sarah to stick around. She also said that although she can’t reveal exactly what happens after Jason Stackhouse holds a gun to her throat in the next episode, “... we do get to see Sarah at the end of her rope and begging for her life.”
And what about the highly-anticipated season 6 finale? Camp gave Truebies some juicy information, saying: “Fans can expect to see the vampires changing the way they can live in the world. You've seen a little bit of that with Bill walking in daylight. I think True Blood has a certain set of rules of how the characters live in the world, but that's about to change. It expands the show in a way that will excite and interest the fans. It's also kind of shocking!”
Whoa. We wonder if that means that the effects of Warlow’s faerie blood will be a permanent thing? It would be totally crazy if vamps didn’t have to hide in the daylight anymore. We can’t wait to see what happens!
Do you hope Sarah Newlin stays on True Blood, and how do you feel about vampires walking in the daylight? Let us know in the comments!
