The True Blood Season 6 spoilers preseason buzz has been all about the fact that Alexander Skarsgard’s character, Eric Northman, bites the dust on season six of True Blood. Say it ain’t so! Truebies (or fangbangers if you prefer) are up in arms about the rumor that, as the premiere fast approaches, is looking more and more like it’s true.

E! Online teases Season 6 with the following statement: “That big death that’s happening this season? It might happen a lot sooner than we originally thought. It’s in the second half of the season, but before the finale.”

Fans can take heart in that, although the show has no problem killing people off, the dead do have plenty of chances to return. Still, though, we love us some Eric so we are definitely holding out hope that it’s someone else who meets the true death.

The folks at International Digital Times did a little sleuthing and the upcoming episode titles are telling in and of themselves. Episode 7 is not so subtly called “The Funeral,” while the title of Episode 9 has been kept under wraps. As they point out, it looks as though the big death could occur on either the July 21 or August 11 episodes.

Joe Manganiello (Alcide) didn’t give us much hope with his recent comment to TVLine, saying, “We're getting to the point in the season now where people are starting to die. The table reads are starting to get smaller, and I'm sure they will continue to do that.”

This all coincides with the fact that Alexander Skarsgard's star is on the rise, and he's been landing some big roles in films, including the upcoming movie What Maisie Knew with Julianne Moore.

As if the possibility of Eric’s death isn’t upsetting enough for Truebies, the season is only slated for 10 episodes as opposed to the usual 12 due to Anna Paquin’s pregnancy. Damn you, Sookie! Those lengthy HBO hiatuses are already painful enough.

What do you think  is Eric the one meeting his demise this season, or will it be someone else?
