Mother’s Day just passed and if you were thinking of some great moms, we’re guessing True Blood’s Lettie Mae Thornton didn’t cross your mind. Played by Adina Porter, the emotionally abusive hot mess turned minister wife and mom to Tara on the show, Lettie Mae isn’t exactly known for her mothering prowess. “Real life” for Adina is quite a different story, however.

The mom of two is so dedicated, she barely gets to watch herself on TV, which not only includes her role on True Blood but a supporting role on The Newsroom, which is also an HBO show.

“I have no time,” she divulged to the Huffington Post. “I didn’t watch last season of True Blood. I didn’t watch my scene I’m sorry!” As she put it, “Work is hard but being a mom is harder,” going on to say, “If you get out in time to have dinner with your kids or put your kids to bed as soon as you walk in the door and you drop your bags, you don’t even have time to take off your makeup. You’re on!”

True that! As for which of the show helps her to rid the stress of a hectic home and work life, Adina says it’s True Blood. In fact, she said, last season she was enjoying her time on Newsroom but then she called up her manager and said, “I feel like chewing up some scenery. Come on, let’s see if True Blood needs me!”

We can’t wait to see it either, as a minister’s wife with a newly turned vampire daugher is a story that can’t end well.
