True Blood Season 6 may be just around the corner (June 16, to be exact), but Alexander Skarsgard is busy promoting his most recent film project, The East.

A drama about an operative who infiltrates an aggressive anarchist group, the film also stars Ellen Page, Patricia Clarkson, and Brit Marling.

Alex and his co-stars attended the New York premiere of The East on May 20 at the Sunshine Landmark. Clad smartly in a black button-up shirt, dark jeans, and black shoes, Alexander Skarsgard walked the red carpet and posed for the cameras with his castmates.

Later, the group migrated over to dining hotspot Stanton Social in the Lower East Side for a post-premiere dinner, where Alex and company dined on signature dishes like smoked duck and baby kale salad, wok charred edamame, sriracha pea crusted salmon, and vegan spaghetti squash.

While his co-stars enjoyed many of the vegan and gluten free options at the restaurant, Alex was overheard joking he’s “all about the meat and beer.”

After dinner the group stuck around and listened to some tunes spun by Stanton Social’s resident DJ Omari Toomer, dancing and hanging out for a while before heading to the official wrap party for The East.
