Can you believe the True Blood Season 6 premiere is almost here? If you’ve been reading up on True Blood spoilers at all, you know it’s going to be quite a wild ride this season!Somehow it feels like we’ve been waiting forever to see our favorite bloodsuckers and supernatural Bon Temps residents in action again! Oh, wait, it HAS been forever! Why oh why does HBO make True Blood seasons so short (extra so this year!) and the wait between so very long?
Well, thankfully, the wait is almost over and on Sunday we’ll be tuning in for the True Blood Season 6 premiere with glee and heavy anticipation. For those who just can’t wait a second longer to know more about what is going to happen, however, we do have a few little True Blood spoilers to share on episode 1 of the new season.
Last season we left off with Bill melting into a puddle of bloody goo after drinking all that remained of the fabled Lilith’s blood. Then, wham and bam, he rose from the goo to become Billith, prompting his old comrades (Eric) and loves (Sookie) to flee from him in terrified horror. We can’t tell you specifics... but let’s just say we’ll be seeing more of Billith in the True Blood Season 6 premiere, but it will be quite a while before we actually know much more about this new demi-godlike character.
"He doesn't know what he is," Stephen Moyer, who plays Bill, said at the True Blood premiere red carpet event on June 11. "It's storytelling where the audience finds out at the same time as he does...”
Newly crowned werewolf pack leader Alcide will also be struggling with his identity in the True Blood season premiere. “I mean the first episode, there — you’ll see there’s some perks to being a pack master, but past that, it’s just terrible,” Joe Manganiello said about Alcide’s new role. By the way, we can tell you that the perks he’s talking about are, um, quite spectacular and we’ll be bringing you an exclusive interview with one of them shortly after the season premiere!
What about that whole war against the vampires thing we’ve seen in the trailers, especially involving anti-vampire villain Governor Truman Burrell (Arliss Howard)? Well, things get nasty pretty fast with new curfews against vampires, bans against vampire-run businesses (like Pam’s Fangtasia) and more. Rutina Wesley said this does not leave the vamps in a good place at all. “There’s a TruBlood shortage and the governor declares war,” Rutina Wesley (Tara Thornton) told OnTheRedCarpet.com. “We’re hungry and we have no humans to really eat because they’re carrying guns and wooden bullets... it gets pretty bloody.”
In other ongoing storylines, Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) is still feeling very anti-vamp. Needless to say this isn’t a good thing for his relationship with his sister Sookie (Anna Paquin). Jason mentions Warlow in front of vampire Nora Gainesborough (Lucy Griffiths), she totally flips out — revealing more about the mysterious new bane of Sookie’s existence.
Speaking of Sookie, her relationship with Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) is still complicated and we don’t want to give away too much, but there will be a poignant moment between the two in the True Blood Season 6 premiere.
Oh and there is more on Andy’s litter of faerie babies... they are going to be quite a lot to handle. Although frankly, we’re just so not interested in this ‘comic relief’ storyline all that much.
Are you hyped for the True Blood premiere on Sunday? We are!
