While many of us had our reservations about True Blood Season 6 without Alan Ball at the helm, steering this ship of crazy/sexy/supernatural fun, it was a little comforting to know that he had left the show in the capable hands of True Blood veteran, Brian Buckner, who has been writing for the show since the first season.

The story has evolved exponentially from where it began six seasons ago. Remember how Sookie was a virgin? And Bill wasn’t a d**k-bag? Glory days, I tell you. Glory days, indeed. That isn’t to say we haven’t loved the changes the show has made as it grown. Jessica is a welcome addition, and watching Tara evolve from victim to vamp has been awesome-sauce. Whatever twists and turns the show might take, it’s always a wild ride.

This season has definitely been wild, and now that we nearly at the halfway mark (don’t mind me, just stifling my sobs with cake) we thought we’d take a quick second to see how we all felt about the season as it currently stands. There have been some interesting developments with the addition of Rutger Hauer and Rob Kazinsky as grandfather-figure and sexy-bad guy -- we’re all about this.

The comedic storyline of Andy Bellefleur trying to rear his hyper-growing fairy daughters has been weird but fun -- until last week’s episode when it took a turn for the macabre. Fingers crossed Jessica’s appetite didn’t really get the better of her and the girls are just, uh, resting. While we love us some Eric, his politically motivated machinations this season seem a little “meh”, and you guys, poor Nora, right? What do you think of the season so far? What are your favorite storylines, and what do you think needs work?
