The cast of HBO’S hit series True Blood are experts at a lot of things. Glamoring others into doing their bidding? Check. Reading the mind of the dude they want to go on a date with? Check. Shifting into the shape of a cheetah so as not to miss a meeting? Check. Fighting fires - ch - waaaait a second! Sure the stars of True Blood know a little something about things getting hot, so it shouldn’t surprise us so much to learn that one of them is joining the ranks of NBC’s Chicago Fire.
It’s Michelle Forbes! In case your memory is in need of jogging, Forbes played Season 2’s wicked Maryann Forrester. As this power-hungry big, bad villain, she encouraged orgies and brainwashed a then-human Tara, not to mention also destroying Sookie’s house. Gran would so not have been pleased. I kind of still can’t believe the place ever bounced back from all those animal sacrifices and all the dirty smearing. Maryann was also responsible for the introduction and subsequent death of Eggs. (Remember Eggs, you guys? Aw, I’m sad now.)
Forbes was recently tapped to play the role of Gail McLeod, a no-nonsense high ranking consultant with the State Fire Marshal’s office, reports TVLine. She’s certainly got her eye on firehouse 51 just like I do. Granted, her’s is focused there for much more professional and much less sexy reasons than mine. Forbes joins the cast of Law and Order creator Dick Wolf’s hit Chicago Fire after two seasons on AMC’s The Killing, where she played the grief stricken mom of Rosie Larsen, Mitch Larsen.
