We’ve been constantly surprised by the new and improved Sarah Newlin this season on True Blood, but we never thought we’d be able to call her a murderer!

In Episode 8, “Dead Meat”, Ms. Suzuki discovers that her Tru Blood batches are being tampered with, and threatens to expose Newlin and (the now-deceased) Governor Burrell’s plan. Sarah’s immediate response was to snap Suzuki’s neck! Which … didn’t quite go as planned.

The fight which followed took up a full 3 minutes of screen time and involved hair-pulling, choking, and crotch-kneeing, ending in a blood-spattered death-by-stiletto. Bad choice of footwear, Suzuki! You might have made it if you’d worn more sensible shoes.

Apparently the action was so fierce that Anna Camp ended up in the emergency room for minor injuries. She’s okay, but admitted it was “The craziest scene I’ve ever shot.” in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Showrunner Brian Bruckner said that the whole concept of the fight was that breaking someone’s neck is not that easy, saying, “... you watch it in the movies and it seems easy to break someone’s neck, and killing people is not that easy. Suzuki would not die.” and added that his favorite moment was “When Suzuki knees Sarah in the groin.”

All we know is that we’re more terrified of Sarah Newlin than ever! Throwing Jason into the female vamp’s prison ward is one thing, but beating someone to death, stabbing them with their own shoe in the brain, and then saying “Thank you, Jesus!” is a whole ‘nother ball of crazy.

Now we’re wondering how many more people Sarah will have to kill to keep her secrets … maybe we’ll find out in the finale!

Did you enjoy the Sarah/Suzuki showdown on True Blood? What was your favorite moment of their catfight? Tell us in the comments!
