The True Blood Season 6 finale (Episode 10: "Radioactive") threw a lot in our direction, but nothing was as shocking as Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) suddenly bursting to flames atop a mountain. Is that really how Eric goes out? While we want to hope Eric will be rescued at the last second, we have to acknowledge that his true death is a real possibility.
We hate to say it, but here are four reasons Eric might really be gone.
Um, that was a pretty bad situation. Not to state the obvious, but being stuck on top of a mountain with the sun beating down is not exactly a good position for a vamp. There's room for him to be saved somehow, but it's not looking good.
It's kinda a True Blood thing to do. As much as we'd like to think that Eric would be given a bigger goodbye if he was going to be killed, we have to admit that having him randomly burn atop a mountain fits with True Blood's campy aesthetic. He deserves better, but that doesn't mean he'll necessarily get it.
Kristin Bauer burst into tears thinking about it. We're still not over the fact that Kristin Bauer burst into tears when asked about the possibility of Eric dying. Is that because she knows Eric is really gone for good?
Alexander Skarsgard is a hot commodity. Back before we knew Terry was killed off, many fans were worried the goner was going to be Eric, and one common reason is that Alexander Skarsgard is a hot commodity who may want more free time to pursue other projects. While Alexander hasn't made any definitive statements to that effect, it's hard not to worry that he's just too hot for TV these days.
