UPDATE: Unfortunately, we only have one more season left of our favorite Bon Temps vampires. HBO announced today that True Blood's final season will be lucky No. 7. Season 7 premieres in summer 2014, and after 10 episodes (yes, a shortened season again), we'll see its series finale. Cue the bloody tears!

Original Story (Aug. 26, 2013):

Hold on to your fangs, Truebies! True Blood showrunner Brian Buckner recently told TVLine that next summer’s Season 7 might be the show’s last!

Buckner said, That conversation is happening, but we don’t have an answer yet. I’m being told that I will know – which doesn’t mean that I will tell everybody. But I will know when the writers resume in the room [next month] whether or not we’re wrapping it up or not.”

Say it ain’t so! We know Season 6 was a little rocky, but we like where it was headed and we’re anticipating that next year will be awesome. We’d hate to see them take Bon Temps away from us just when the show was getting back on track.

But True fans shouldn’t panic just yet. HBO President Michael Lombardo said, “... no decisions have been made” and also that True Blood would continue to air as “... long as there are stories to tell.”

Whew! We’re still a little worried though … what about you?
