As was recently announced, True Blood is coming to a close after its upcoming seventh season. It’s always sad when shows that we love end but what’s worse is when a show wraps without tying up the loose ends that we, the viewers, want tied. Much ado was made of The Sopranos final season and, yet, many of us were left scratching our heads. Perhaps they were trying to be clever but many of us dedicated fans were left unsatisfied. HBO, don’t do that to us again! Please take heed – here are some of the things we want to see (nay, demand to see!) in the final season:

  • Ditch the dogs! Yes, they added a certain something on Twilight but, on True Blood, those werewolves have grown a bit weary, even with their super svelte bodies. It’s time to 86 the canines.

  • Another one bites the faerie dust. As with the werewolves, we’re done with faeries. Of course, we know we have to have Sookie but if we never see anyone cross over that imaginary threshold into faerie-land again, it will be too soon.

  • Get Jason away from Violet. Sure, she’s got spunk and all but our sweet if a bit gullible Jason deserves a chance at true love...with a human.

  • Let Sarah Newlin go out in a fiery ball of hellfire and damnation. She’s earned it!

  • Allow Jessica and James to live happily ever after. We love that vamp-romance.

  • Give us more Willa! While we do hope that they stick to the core cast for the final season, we loved this girl from moment one. If only we could go back in time and give her a role in earlier seasons!

  • Lafayette! Lafayette! Lafayette! Need we say more? Let us see a lot of our favorite gay-chef-turned-medium. On the flip-side, we’re okay with less Tara. Sorry, Tara, but the mouthy chip--on-your-shoulder act has grown tiresome.

  • Don’t let Eric be dead! Sure, he can do the apparition thing but that’s sort of Godrick’s area. Let Pam have saved him and let him come back to Bon Temps, preferably sans clothing. Perhaps there can even be a little Eric/Willa romance but we’d prefer it only if it pleases Pam. We also love our salty Pam.

  • Less supernatural, more plot. Get back to exploring the relationships between all these characters whom we love.

  • Please, oh please, let Sookie and Bill get back together. We loved them when they were happy and it will allow us to come full circle and go gently into that good night.
